The Loire Valley castles
The Loire Valley is a World Heritage Site which conceals more than 50 beautiful castles. It had been during the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries the seat of royal power, and the scene of an unprecedented artistic revival to which contributed the greatest artists of the time, such as Leonardo da Vinci. In this region of arts and pleasures, you will discover so captivating castles and gardens.
How to visit the Loire Valley ?
During an extended day departing from Paris you will visit three of the most famous castles. Two or three days will be needed to take full advantage of the Loire Valley and its wonders.
Not included : personal expenditures and tips
• You will visit three castles of the Loire, emblematic of the Renaissance and very different in their situation, architecture, history, and beautiful gardens : Chenonceau, Chambord and Cheverny. Everyone deserves an hour of visit or more. Your driver guide will offer you the historical background of each castle and guide you through the gardens. You will then discover each monument at your leisure. Some of our guests prefer to enjoy more leisurely tours and select only two castles. Talk to your driver guide who will advise you.
• At lunch time, our guides will be able to advise you and direct you to a large choice of restaurants.
Our suggestions : (contact us)
• Visit a wine cellar with a tasting of Loire wines. This activity is offered instead of the visit to a third castle. By reservation only.
• Enjoy a private guided tour of the interior of the Chateau de Chambord and its hidden places. You will be transported in the history of this huge palace, accessing reserved areas, as King François 1er liked to show to his illustrious visitors. By reservation only.
France Private Tour invites you to discover the Loire Valley Castles and the last home of Leonardo da Vinci at the Clos-Lucé castle on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of his death ... You can also visit the park dedicated to him as well as his tomb located at the Amboise castle.
